The Philips 2GB Voice Tracer 3000 Digital Recorder supports both stereo MP3 and stereo PCM (WAV) recording formats, which enables you to utilize a variety of bit-rates ranging from 8 kbps to 1411 kbps. The Voice Tracer has a built-in 2GB NAND Flash memory, a USB 2.0 port for high-speed data transfer, voice volume indicator, microSD card slot and ClearVoice sound enhancement feature. It features dual high-sensitivity HQ stereo low-noise microphones, a 1/8" (3.5mm) microphone input and a 1/8" (3.5mm) headphone output as well.

The compact Voice Tracer is equipped with a dynamic 28mm front speaker that facilitates immediate, crystal-clear playback of recent voice recordings. The ClearVoice feature enhances the quieter voices that are more difficult to hear. You can also initiate recordings by voice-activation. The recorder also supports a calendar search function, as well as AutoAdjust recording for automatic sound parameter setting.

The recorder has instant one-touch recording as well. This allows you to start a recording, even when the whole device is shut down, by simply holding down the record button for a moment and then when the unit turns on - it will instantly start recording. The Voice Tracer even has an easy-to-read 1.5" backlit LCD screen, which improves menu navigation speed. There's also a voice volume indicator for ensuring clear volume feedback. When you're away from the Voice Tracer, the keypad lock protects your files. The recorder is powered by two AAA rechargeable NiMH batteries (included), which support up to 48 hours of recording in the LP mode.

Voice-Activation Function for Hands-Free Recording
Voice-activated recording is a convenience feature for hands-free recording. When enabled, recording will start automatically when you start speaking. Recording stops automatically after you stop speaking and restarts automatically when you start speaking again.
