Philips DPM8900 Complete Digital Conference Recording System

The Philips DPM8900 Pocket Memo Meeting Digital Recorder features four independent meeting microphones that provide full 360° audio pickup - even in larger rooms. You can record using the PCM, MP3, and DSS recording formats, which enable you to utilize a variety of bit-rates ranging from 13.7 to 705 kbps. The DPM8900's other features include an SD/SDHC memory card slot, a micro-USB 2.0 port for high-speed data transfers, a microphone input, a headphone output, and a docking connector that works with an optional dock. For added convenience in the field, a built-in front speaker facilitates immediate playback of recent voice recordings.

The DPM8900 is equipped with an easy-to-read 2.4" color LCD screen as well. Plus, convenient push-button control lets you easily initiate recordings in the field. The recorder comes with SpeechExec workflow software that helps you organize the workflow of your dictation files. The rechargeable battery lasts for up to 27 hours and a light sensor even adjusts display brightness to ensure longer battery life. The DPM8900 also features voice-activated recording, one-touch recording, a durable metal carrying case, and exchangeable memory cards. For added convenience, the included meeting mics even come with adjustable cables so your conference room always looks tidy.

High Recording Quality in DSS & MP3 Formats
The DSS format was developed for use in digital voice recorders, allowing a high compression ratio with little loss of quality. The DSS format also allows you to store additional information in the file header, which facilitates the organization and the transcription of dictation files. The MP3 format is a common audio format for consumer audio storage, as well as a de facto standard encoding for the transfer and playback of music on digital audio players.

Innovative Meeting Microphones Enhance Recording Quality
The innovative boundary layer design of the four included meeting microphones uses the sound pressure of the table to provide excellent sound and recording quality with a 360° sound pickup radius. The meeting mics feature electret condenser mic capsules that have an impedance of 2.2 kOhms at 1kHz, a sensitivity level of -38dBV, and a frequency response range of 30 to 18,000Hz. They use a 1.5 to 5V / 0.5mA phantom power supply voltage and weigh only 0.24 lb (0.11kg). They have a stereo mini-jack audio plug with a 6.5' (2m) cable and a stereo mini-jack connector for cascading multiple meeting mics together.
